An easy way to stick to your New Year’s resolutions

If you’re like me, you will have made one or two New Year’s resolutions over the past day or so but (also like me) you probably will find it hard to keep them.

That’s because we make resolutions that are either too difficult or that we won’t enjoy doing. Things like ‘I must get fit and go to the gym twice a week’ or ‘I need to lose a stone’.

Why do we make resolutions that try to reform our bad habits when we know we won’t do anything about it after about January 10? Why can’t resolutions be fun to do?

So, this year, I have made two EASY resolutions that I know will enjoy.

  • I will give myself regular treats.
  • I will meet friends for lunch more often.

Actually, I will need to be more specific than that, to ensure they happen. So my resolutions are:

  • I will give myself a treat every time I win a new project or a new client.
  • I will meet a friend once a fortnight for lunch.
